Enjoying the Last Days of Summer

We took advantage of the beautiful weather this weekend to play outside and enjoy the last days of August. During the week, we celebrated Charlie's 7 month birthday, looked at old photo's and just can't believe how big he is! On Friday, Grandma and Grandpa babysat Charlie while we went to a friend's wedding--he had such a good time (and was probably spoiled rotten!). We spent the rest of the weekend playing outside, on Saturday in Central Park and on Sunday in Brooklyn. Auntie Hayley came to Brooklyn on Sunday and went to brunch with Jessie and Charlie and they had such a good time. It will be sad when the weather gets cold, but we are looking forward to fall, football and of course, Charlie's first Halloween. The pics are from Central Park.

Lamaze Reunion

This week, we met up with some of Charlie's oldest friends, those he made in utero! We had a reunion with Toby, Brixton and their parents in Prospect Park and it was wonderful to see how big they have grown. We ate food and then went on the swings which they all loved. We took it easy for the rest of the weekend and got some great pics of Charlie lounging around the house.

A Wonderful Long Weekend

The three of us spent a long weekend together starting on Friday with the annual Stern family picnic. Charlie saw all of his friends and got to play in the Washington Square Village playground, an exclusive spot where you need a key to get in! Charlie loved the swings and laughed up a storm when he went high in the air. On Saturday, we took Charlie to the city to buy a new Macbook (for blogging of course) and met up with our friend Sarah, which got us so excited about her upcoming wedding and our trip to London. On Sunday and Monday, we went out to Long Island where Grandma and Grandpa babysat Charlie giving us a much needed dinner and movie date night. On Monday, Grandpa Bruce took us to Northport where we saw sailboats and walked the town. We cherish every minute spent with our wonderful family.

Coney Island

On Sunday, the family traveled to Coney Island for "Take your baby to his first Brooklyn Cyclones game". Before the game, we had hot dogs and Nathan's, walked the boardwalk and went to the NY Aquarium. We then went to the game where Charlie loved the music, mid-inning games and the many other kids in attendance. He made it to the 7th inning, much longer than Daddy did at his first game! We had such a wonderful time and know that this will be the first off many baseball family outings.

Musikfest 2010

On Saturday, we traveled to PA to visit Auntie Sara and Uncle Andy for Musikfest 2010. Charlie and his cousins love music, games and candy, so it was a natural hit with everyone. We had a perfect day for the festival with sunny skies and mild temperatures. The kids got to sing and dance and had a great time. Evan, Charlie and Seth participated in lots of activities and the adults enjoyed the music, food and beverages. Musikfest is such a blast and we will definitely be back next year! Charlie also got his Gator Gear to be ready for the upcoming season. Go Gators!!

Charlie's First Meal

Some Pics of the Boy

Here are some 6 month pictures. We think he is pretty cute...

Milestones

August 1st marked our first year in Park Slope! We remember moving into the new apartment after living on the Upper West Side for 6 years with some trepidation, but Park Slope has far exceeded our expectations and it has been a most wonderful year. This week also marked a big milestone for Charlie...his 6 month checkup. He weighed 15.8 lbs (15%) and was 28 inches tall (60%). Otherwise, he is happy, healthy and itchy!! We were also given the okay to start solid food and Charlie enjoyed his first meal (homemade organic carrot puree) on Sunday night. We had a very busy weekend on Long Island visiting Charlie's friend Andrew and his Grandparents, Uncle, Aunt and cousins Seth and Evan. Charlie loved seeing everyone and especially enjoyed when cousin Evan played with him and sang him songs. We are looking forward to going to PA next week to see the family for music fest!
