9 Months Old

Charlie gave us quite a scare this week when he broke out with a terrible skin infection. Despite being very uncomfortable, he was a real trooper and by the end of the week he was doing so much better. On Friday, he had his 9 month checkup and is doing great. He weighs 18 pounds and is 29 inches tall. Charlie was also lucky to get a brief visit with Grandma Iris on Friday night while she was on her way to girl's weekend. On Saturday, Mom went to work and the boys had a good time hanging around the slope. On Sunday, we did some shopping and watched some football. Can't wait for Halloween!

Back in the USA

Charlie was welcomed back to Brooklyn with great fanfare by his friends at daycare and in the building. He got back in the swing of things with no problem and enjoyed telling his friends about his travels to Stockholm and the UK. Over the weekend, we saw Jessie's dear friend Karen and we took her around the Slope to brunch and the park. Charlie also had his first unsupported bath which was very exciting. Sunday was very quiet, but Charlie is looking forward to all the upcoming fun during the Halloween season.

Random Vacation Pics

We had too many good pics of Charlie not to post some more. Enjoy!

Vacation Part 2: Castle Combe, England

On Thursday, we flew to the United Kingdom for the wedding of our good friends Sarah and Nadim. The setting was the Manor House in Castle Combe, England, which was voted one of the prettiest villages in England. The manor house itself was breathtaking and our room was so luxurious we felt like royalty. The ceremony was in a 12th Century Church and the party involved Scottish dancing! Charlie was second to only the bride and groom in gathering attention and he hammed it up for everyone. We are so happy for Sarah and Nadim and we hope you guys have a great honeymoon.

Vacation Part 1: Stockholm

We arrived in Stockholm for the first part on vacation on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, Charlie caught a bug on the plane and needless to say no sightseeing was done! However, Charlie made a speedy recovery and the rest of the week was phenomenal. On Monday we took a walking tour of the old City of Gamla stan. On Tuesday, we saw the Vasa, a warship built in 1628 (and sailed for 20 minutes before sinking!) as well as an open air folk museum called Skansen. On Wednesday, we went to the Nobel museum, the palace armory and City Hall. We ended up at a great restaurant in the New City recommended by our guide. The weather was perfect and we had such a wonderful time. Charlie was perfect and made all the blonde haired/blued eyed babies so jealous! Enjoy the pics.
